WATCH POP

The Richard Lange is a beautiful watch I must agree.......BUT. Sacriledge I know, but I just can't see the need for the numbers indicating the seconds on such a classic simple dial. If the numbers were removed the roman numerals could be moved out, thus IMVHO improving the look even more. This however was beyond my skills with Photoshop.

Your version does look a little cleaner. One could also argue for making them all black instead of the 15's in red. In total agreement with Dave.

Also, Lange committed an error by removing the 1815 model and not replacing it with another watch with Arabic numbers.
Only time will tell. especially getting rid of the red numbers...but I do think the Roman numberals (vs Arabic) suit the style of the watch. I like the minute numbers, but I would probably prefer black instead of red quarter hour numbers. The RL is an awesome watch, though perhaps a bit too large. The L1 at 38.5mm is just perfect.

...adds a little bit of color to the otherwise plain (but stunning) face. Also, the red numbers act as a sort of 'quarter' marker (at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock) without actually needing markers, they pull double duty.
Another thought, because this is their 'precise' watch, maybe the numbers are there to convey a sense of absolute precision, that knowing the exact minute and second is important on this watch.
Seems it does a lot to improve readability, also. Without it, it takes me a second to figure out what is going on (then again, I am a little slow :p )
Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control Automatic, Archimede Pilot, Seiko Black Knight, others... I think that is my watch.....(minus the minute markers). I mean my actual watch. My photo. I like it either way.
