Question regarding wording in the manual

Hi, I recently acquired a Datograph and till now there is this particular part in the manual that still confuses me. I think the wording probably refers to all the Lange watches as well as it is not a chornograph mechanism, so hopefully other owners can shed some light. On page 18 of the manual, it says "Do not adjust the date until you have set the correct time". This is under the Winding the Watch section.I am confused as to why they say this because if the watch has stopped for some time due to inactivity, I assume the usual practice is that one will set the date to the previous day first and then adjust the time. This is apparently contradictory to the wording in the above paragraph.Hope someone can helpe me out.Thanks.
Answer:
Although my Lange doesn't have a date display (1815), I assume this is just to avoid any setting around midnight. Usually, people don't set their watch between 10PM and 1AM !!!
Best regards,
Glenn.
Answer:
This is to prevent you from having to reset the date after you set the time. Because when you set the time, the date might advance 1 day depending on what time you set the watch. It's a 50%/50% chance.
Answer:
one and then advance the time accordingly so that the date jumps forward one day, and THEN set the time, wouldn't that be the same?regards: This is to prevent you from having to reset the date after you set the time.
