My Lange 1 is very hard to wind

I purchased a used Lange 1 rose gold. It is very hard to wind. Not like buttah. Any reasons why this might be. The crown is kind of small as well making it more difficult but the winding motion is very hard particulalry towards the lower end. Thanks for the help.
Answer:
what do you mean by hard to wind...does the crown provide strong resistance? It should be progressively hard to wind as the mainspring gains power, but the first few turns should be relatively easy. I find the crown of the Lange 1 to be excellent in size...not too small (the 1815 crown is a tad small, and so is the Langematic's - but being automatic, it is not a daily affair to wind).
I would recommend you take it to your authorized dealer to see what's the matter. The Lange 1 should wind smoothly, but progressively harder till you feel resistance...then stop, wind back at least half a turn...and that's it...enjoy!
Answer:
Actually the first turns are the hardest and it gets a little easier as it crosses the half way point. Maybe it is just my fingers, but I find there is strong resistance to winding it and it actually seems like a chore to me. Nothing like the buttery smooth wind others mention on this board. I do back it off at the end.
