Lange Tourbillon
It was a tourbillon with a white dial--I believe it had a seconds sub-dial in the upper right portion of the dial. It was a white metal--I asked the man if it was WG or PLT--he said it was a gift from his wife and he didn't know. He said he also has a RG Lange 1.
Is anyone familiar with this watch?

Answer:
As you may have noticed in your visit to Vegas... it is a land built one facade stacked on another. Fakes, thieves, and liars are found at every corner... and as you discovered, they frequent black-jack tables too (hardly a surprise). So, what are the clues?
1) You met him wearing this watch in Las Vegas.
2) You met him at a black-jack table.
3) He said he had been given the watch.
4) He didn't know anything about it (neither the metal, nor the model yet he claimed to have an L1... as a gambling man yourself, you can truely appreciate the odds on that fact alone!).
6) Lange does not, and has not built any tourbillion example where that the seconds sub-dial is in the upper right portion of the dial (read: between 12 and 3). The closest is the "Pour le Merite" tourbillon (pictured below) where that the power reserve sub-dial is just inside the '3':
The only white metal that it came in was platinum, and it did have a white dial too... but at a price far exceeding 100,000 USD, I'd think that he would have to have some knowledge of what it was... along with a Very Kind and wealthy wife!
7) The only other tourbillon created by Lange is the L1 pictured here:
As you can see, it doesn't have the seconds sub-dial as indicated in your posting, so it would seem unlikely that this was what you saw (again, this is a highly valuable example and an extremely unlikely gift... particularly to an unknowing recipient).
So, it would seem you've spotted another fake... one of an unfortunately large number (most bearing no resemblance to any true Lange).
You may want to browse the famous "Bay" auction site... you're likely to see one posted there.

Answer:
Thanks Bryej for your response. The guy wearing the watch seemed thoroughly respectable (well-dressed, well-spoken, talked about his kids, etc.) He was palying BJ for real money ($100-900 per hand), so it seemed plausible that he had such an expensive watch. The only "odd" thing about our watch conversation was that he didn't know which metal his watch was made of. Also, he didn't follow up when I told him I have a Lange also (I have a PLT 1815).
I guess the only conclusion I can draw is that the guy was wearing (knowingly or unknowingly) a fake Lange.
Answer:
...18kt yellow gold. He was kind enough to show it to me at dinner in NYC a couple of years ago. I am glad that Rudi was there to translate. The watch was drop dead beautiful. So the Pour-le-Merite came in two flavors, 18kt yg and platinum.
Answer:
the original release was planned for 50 platinum, and 150 in gold, meaning YG. But before all 150 were taken up, the YG allotment was further divided up to 25 in RG and 25 in WG being planned. The final delivery was close to the planned numbers, except one was delivered in SS, and one was in a case which is 1mm smaller.
