a strange bad dream happened to me this night.
I was dreaming that i have baught a 5100 powered omega some years ago and went for servicing it fo overhaul.
The watchmaker (not a watchmaker that i know) says me: "mr this watch is too old we can't not have spare parts for lemania 5100 anymore.The overhaul will cost you the same price than a new watch."
Me:"what are you kidding me?Do you mean that my watch has no worth anymore????"
Thewatchmaker:"it is not that it has no worth but it will be too costly to do it"
Me:"What will be the price?and btw have you ever repaired a 5100 powered chrono?"
The watchmaker:"it will 500€ + 300€ for the spare parts.Do you mean that i don't know how to repair 5100's powered chronos?"
Me:"In a certain way, yes why?Because some people have given you their 5100's powered chronos and you serviced them more than very bad that is why so many people are complaining against you."
The watchmaker:"i was only doing my job if you aren't happy go some where else"
Me:"is that the way you treat your customers?"
The watchmaker:"go out now i don't want you see anymore in shop."
Me:"i won't because i know that you damage 5100's powered chronos take some spare parts for the 5100's chrono of alain silberstein" I have seen on his work table in my dreams 20 lemania 5100 movements and the cases of various watches omegas, hamiltons, sinns, tutimas and heuers.
End of the bad dream but what i can say i hope not to encounter such watchmakers, it will give me a serious cold in the back.

you have made a good suggestion. To be honnest it is the badest dream i have made about watches.You know billhud that i love watches and without watches and watchmaking something will lack me in my hobbies.This bad dreams happened one day or two after i and chucked have spoken of the probably end of the lemania 5100 movement.
Maybe is it a coincidence or a premonition? I stay positive and go forward it is not because of a bad dream that i have to stop what i love.

i couldn't agree more with you about the 1040/1045 spare parts.I think that any good reputated watchmaker should have them and can repair these watches properly.My watchmakers ask390€ for a chrono overhaul + estimate of repartion made on demand.Well i know that they have more than 15years of experience and so no worries to have for me.
