Seamaster Professional Accuracy

I took delivery on my Seamaster Professional in Aug 04. After wearing the watch for a few days it settled into running +3 sec/day. When the weather started to get cold (Chicago,IL) the watch began running +7-8 sec/day, outside of COSC rating.

My problem, I wore my SMP in a hot tub about a month ago and has since run -6 sec/day. Is there anything I can do to improve the accuracy? And, are these wide variations common with change in temperature?
Answer:
IMHO, your watch is ok. If you want better accuracy in a consistant bases, only quartz can beat that.

I doubt it has much to do with the temperature, since your body temperature is pretty much constant, and after you took it off, the watch is indoor anyway.
Answer:
My new SEMP certified chronometer is doing a consistant +16 seconds a day after 4 weeks. I am taking it to the official Florida Omega service center Wednesday for an adjustment. According to the service center they WILL adjust it or replace the movement. The same week I bought a new Ernst Benz automatic GMT, non-certified, and it has been keeping +3 seconds a day. You never know!!!

Answer:
My SeMP is running consistantly +1 sec. a day after having it for 5 weeks. Omega 3520.50, 2538.20, 2531.80, Tag-Heuer Formula 1 Chrono, Luminox Navy Seal
Answer:
My SMP too is keeping a constant +1 second per day after 6 weeks of wear. Based on some of the forum members comments about timing, I have tried putting the watch crown down and crown up on different evenings. One evening with the crown up, I lost 2 seconds.
Although the watch is a constant +1 second per day, I have been able to manipulate the watch into only being ahead by 10 seconds after 6 weeks. I don't suffer from insanity ... I enjoy every minute of it!
