Omega Vintage Number Site

Just thought I would let you all have a reply I have received from Omega regarding there site. Not sure what exactly what this means, but I think it says "I'll get back to you, sometime"

Dear Mr. Hannam,

Thank you for your enquiry.

As we are sure you are aware, our website http://www.omegawatches.com/cu_vintage/ has published the technical specifications of vintage Omega wristwatches and other interesting documents free of charge since March 2004. This allows you to find the general characteristics of your model automatically, using the reference number engraved on the inside of the case back. Several hundred of these specifications are already available and we are adding many more each day.

Despite these improvements to our Vintage Information Service, we are still faced with an overwhelming number of additional requests, which we unfortunately cannot reply to within a reasonable deadline. We are therefore obliged to restructure our internal organization once again and cannot answer your enquiry for the moment.

We therefore kindly ask you to be patient and to await further instructions which will appear shortly on our website.

Best regards

Answer:
This has been the standard response from vintage inquiries since at least January 2005. My experience has been that I have received responses in approximately 3 months.

Their backlog of unanswered requests was approximately 1700 in early June 2005.

On a related note, the vintage website query page has been down since early July (I think). It went down when the webpages were redesigned. (There are a number of posts regarding the new design, should you want to check.) I did not check today.

Does anyone know when it is expected back up? We are far beyond the indicated two week. If time is money, I'll spend my money on time
