Need Help on Vintage Omega, It runs very fast. Thanks for any suggestion

My watch movement run very fast. The second hand run +10 second every minute. Is there something I can fix that? Can any watch repair shop fix it? any suggestion or comment.
Thank you.
Answer:
Similar, but opposite problem here. I have a 1961 seamaster cal.552 that is too slow. It loses about 3 minutes a day.

Can these speed problems be fixed? Surely these automatic watches have some kind of fine tuning that can be done easily by a pro...

Thanks.

It sounds as if you have a hairspring/balance problem with your watch if it is gaining 10 seconds a minute.
Get it to a watchmaker.

Losing three minutes a day on your watch means it probably needs a service.
Only worth regulating a watch when it is in top shape IMO.
Rather like trying to tune a car with old plugs. Cheers, Neil.
Answer:
Maybe it is only magnetised. Old watches don't have "antimagnetic" balance wheels and spirals, so it is easy to magnetise them. Any watchmaker should solve the problem very easily.

Magnetised watches as far as I know go always fast (they will never slow down because they are magnetised).
Answer:
You don't state some necessary facts to fully analyze the problem like: When was the watch last serviced? Did the watch just suddenly start doing this? How old is this watch? What movement? etc., however:

The most likely cause (assumming the watch is old and has not been serviced recently): The wheel train is gummed up with old lubricants that have turned to glue. This reduces the balance amplitude to such a low level that it just seems to "flutter" and the watch gains time dramatically. The next thing to happen will be that the watch stops and won't run at all. Solution:
Watch needs to be disassembled, cleaned and relubricated by a capable watchmaker. There may be other problems with the movement as well which could be addressed at this service.

Other possible problems: Hairspring coils stuck together or snagged on some other part of the movement or hairspring magnetized so that coils are sticking together. These sorts of problems would usually appear suddenly.

Bottom line: Take your watch to a professional for service/repair. There isn't anything you can do about this.
