TZ "New" messages function not working?

Has anyone else noticed that whatever you do the "new" flag won't go away for a thread? 100% of the topics are marked as "new" for me. I really liked this function when it worked... "Mechanical watches are so brilliantly unnecessary. Any Swatch or Casio keeps better time, and high-end contemporary Swiss watches are priced like small cars. But mechanical watches partake of what my friend John Clute calls the Tamagotchi Gesture. They're pointless in a peculiarly needful way; they're comforting precisely because they require tending." - WG

...and I run OS X too. Please pay a visit to the Omega Speedmaster 376.0822 Owners page... ...and leave a message if you own one of these great chronographs!
Answer:
Yes, the problem corrects itself when I switch to "tree view."

And I run Windows XP SP2 and MOzilla Firefox in case anyone's curious...

Thanks,

Answer:
I run 99% of the time in tree view.

when I visit & have say 2 pages of new messages, If I reply to one of them, when I get taken back to the overview, I don't have a single NEW message.

OK new threads aren't really a problem, but I may miss a post to a thread that is a bit older.

Obviously the answer is to leave the overview alone & open each message in a new session.

I run a Fujistu Siemens with IE 6.0
