OT: Flight qualified watches questions - Continued from below
Thanks everyone for all your advice and feedback regarding space watches. I do have one more question though...
As Steve said my focus is on the "authorized/official" sellections. Though I do like the idea of gathering all the "flown" examples. but alas the wallet will not allow such an endeavour. If I ever win the lottery then all bets are off, but until then I will have to stick to this plan.
Here's one last question...
Am I nuts to consider selling my SeMPC to fund a Fortis B-42 Cosmonaut? Are these watches even comparable in quality a features? Plus my SeMPC is the titanium so I know it will be relatively hard to replace down the road if I ever have the need to do so. I love the SeMPC, but I just can't afford to keep it if I am serious about this reconfiguration of my collection. If I do go ahead with this reconfiguration It will be pretty much the last of my major watch purchases for several years since I need to start plugging more money down on my new mortgage.

Answer:
... it sounds to me like you're not too sure about this "reconfiguration". I think you are torn between your aesthetic side (the heart) which chose the SeMPC and still likes it a lot, and your intellectual side (the head) which would be more satisfied with a collection that has some glue holding it together (flight qualified watches). The problem arises because the watches that satisfy your head (Fortis, etc.) don't pull on your heart strings. Clearly you won't be satisfied unless you can find a better balance. Just my 2 cents, take it for what it's worth.
Best,
Robin

Thanks for your feedback Robin. It sometimes helps to throw a thought out there and here what other people have to say. This is a situation one would normally talk over with friends, and they would be able to help articulate ones thoughts. Sadly, I have no friends who share this watch obsession so they are of little help in this regard. This is OK though because here provides access to a whole host of friends who can help with watch related matters. here is a special place and I am constantly impressed with the generosity of spirit and companionship that can be found here. Thanks everyone for helping to make this a nice place to hang out. Curtis

Answer:
Don't be in such a hurry to have a complete collection right away. If you really consider this a hobby (rather than a sickness!) then you can build your collection one at a time over many years, as the funds allow. My problem is choosing between a pre-pro to add to my pre-moon collection (105.012-66 and 145.022-69 so far) and a JLC Master Ultra Thin!
