Difference between the 3301 and 3303 Movements
I am unsure of the differene between the 3301 and 3303 movements. Is one better than the other? Which one had the problems or did Omega have problems with both? Thanks for the information and knowledge.

Answer:
the 3303 has a higher level of finish. Other than that, they are pretty much the same. Regards,

Answer:
Not just me... Omega describes the 3303 as "Deluxe" and the 3301 as "Standard" finishes for this movement.
I've heard c.33xx owners describe the difference between the finishes of these two models to be ,,minimal,,. Hopefully someone with more direct experience with the levels of finish these two movements will chime in at some point.
I'll also mention that there exists a theory that since the c.3301 is a newer movement, they are more likely to have the remedial (AKA Rev. B) parts designed to eliminate the issues the c.33xx's suffer from. However, there have been numerous reports of c.3301's suffering from problems with similar/same descriptions as those the retrofit parts were supposed to fix.
So to answer Don's (DCJ's) specific questions:
Is one better than the other?
Supposedly the finish on the c.3303 is superior. Although I've heard the difference is slight.
Which one had the problems
both movements have had numerous issues reported.
or did Omega have problems with both?
Omega, Authorized Dealers, owners, have had problems with both.
Feel free to do a search on this forum, the forum archive and via Google to learn more of the history of the movement and people's experiences.
For the record, I was more than content to leave this thread alone and let 33xx owners reply until my name was used in the subject of a reply. I'm not looking for either a new thread on the topic to participate in, nor a resumed discussion on the merits of the(se) movement(s). Hopefully these replies are helpful to Don and I wish him the best of fortune with his decision regardless of what that ends up being.
