Answer:
What a strange idea of a Gentleman's accessories. I suppose slightly better than a gun!
Answer:
so "Doctor", you sound like an appeasement kind of guy. If you think sitting around the campfire and singing
coom-bye-ya will ever solve anything, check out the UN's
accomplishments worldwide via ultimatums and "warnings".
If it were not for lots of the allies guns and knives, you would now be speaking German.
This is a watch site, many members also have an interest
in guns or knives. No one here cares about your condescending,
judgmental, comments with respect to our hobbies.
Sir Winston Churchill, by the way, always carried a folding pocket knife. My son is a pediatric cardiologist/surgeon.
He has installed several trach tubes with his Buck knife

Answer:
Me, I'm wearing my mid-sized "Bond" Seamaster and carrying a Spyderco folder. Although I'm licensed to carry a concealed weapon in my state, I'm heading out to a wedding and a discreet pocket knife is probably all that prudence requires on my person.
Answer:
BTW, Sir Winston also said "appeasement is like feeding an alligator; hoping it will eat you last.

You got to remember that America has an element of "gun culture". Many Americans are avid hunters, target shooters, and antique collectors. Firearms are also representative symbols of independence in America. Unfortunately, some Americans use firearms for the wrong purpose. Those individuals are caught and brought to justice in our courts.
Likewise, other people around the world pervert the use of firearms and use them as weapons of terror. These terrorists have not had much (if any) basic firearm safety training. I'm sure that we are all familiar with images of people firing their automatic weapons into the air. The shooter doesn't realize that what comes up must come down. You would be surprised how many people die from the falling bullets. In fact, some of the terrorist leaders even issued edicts urging people to stop this practice.
So before anyone gets too jumpy one way or another, let's just remember that there are all people from all walks of life here.
Yes, people have been killed by guns. However, let's also remember that people die from drunk drivers, drug overdose, heart attacks. Interestingly enough, the deaths in America caused by firearms pales in comparison to the other deaths.

Good God guys! It's a 2 1/2 inch gentlemans pocket knife. A cutting tool, some like PENS, some like leather wallets, some like cuff links!?!? and gold chains. Would a cigar cutter raise such an uproar? Remind me not to post a picture of my revolver! How about the watch eh? Is my picture any good?
BEST
Kevin. Appreciate your time.
Answer:
Is it a bone handle? Haven't bought a Buck knife in quite some time - I always like them. You caught the white face and case highlights very well, wood background complements both objects. The natural elements from the handle and wood balance the mechanisms, visually and conceptualy. Thanks for a nice picture.
As for defense, never fear: You can shoot the laser out of the crown at 10 o'clock - I saw it in one of those Bond movies. :)

Great pic, I really love that white-faced chrono. Love the red triangle markers...really striking. The few times I've seen one on the Sales Forum, I think how I could trick my wife into believing I need it. No luck yet.
As for the comment about the watch; yeah, my dad used to carry a pen knife around. The pen knife has gone the way of pipe smoking and the fedora.
I think the responses regarding sigragalli's statement were a bit unduly harsh; a folding knife is not very common, but it isn't rare in this country.
Offense is usually taken in forums due to simple misunderstandings (on some forums I frequent it can be %25 of content). Polite explanations go far to continue to make this one of the pleasanter places on the net. :) Drew----- "Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. It's a dumb question... skip it." Rex Kramer

I thank you for your considered and polite comments. I am suitably contrite, and will immediately urge gentlemen of my acquaintance to provide themselves with knives immediately. Thus prepared they can stave off invasion, conduct emergency surgery and abandon their frightful habit of singing come-bye-ya. Not having to learn German will be a bonus! By the way the watch was rather nice.
