WATCH POP

I was browsing through the Omega web site looking at the auto chronos in the SMP line and there are two models in there that seem very similar. Perhaps it is a model year change? I did a search for the two model numbers in here, but I didn't find anything so I hope I am not rehashing a previously discussed topic! They are the 2225.80.00 and 2599.80.00. The specs available on the page sound the same and the only difference I can really see is some red text on the dial. If anyone has any information I would appreciate it! like you said, it has red "Seamaster" on the dial. Also it has applied hour markers and the Omega symbol. Otherwise, it is the same watch with the same Valjoux 7750. There might be a few other cosmetic differences too - I just can't recall offhand.

Also, the new one has a slightly darker blue dial, applied markers, red lettering and I think the Omega symbol is metal now.

That's it. Otherwise they're identical which is reflected in a negligible price increase.
Excellent. Thanks guys! Other minor differences include:

1) lack of lumen at 3,6,9,12
2) larger subdials (probably causing point 1)
3) deeper reds on the second hand and subdial hands (the older 2599.80 reds seem to fade faster)
4) different caseback with sharper 'incline'
5) bigger Seamaster logo/mascot
6) hour and minute hands are longer

Because of Point 4, i chose the 2599.80 over the 2225.80 because i've got smaller wrists and it felt better. Thanks, hobbes. Could you elaborate a little on point 4? I am not sure I totally understand what you mean - would the sharper inclince make a larger surface area for the caseback? Sorry, Point 4 should have been described as 'lower' incline, meaning that the caseback actually has a smaller footprint but with the same thickness. Hence there is slightly more 'air' around the sides between the watch and your wrist. The 2559.80 had more of the caseback touching your wrist so it felt more snug. Hope that describes it better.
