Damon When your watch gets out of order you have a choice of two things to do: throw it in the fire or take it to the watch-tinker. The former is the quickest. -MT
Answer:
OMG ! Someone had seriously deep pockets for the Casino Royale PO , if he wants, he can borrow my steam cleaner to spruce it up !!! ;-) "Orbis non sufficit" - SMP LE 2226.80.00 (00700/10007) , PO 2200.50.00 , PO Chrono 2918.50.82 , Breitling Bentley Motors
Answer:
It was probably bought by some museum to display. If I would have been a bidder and won the SMP worn in Casino Royal or Tomorrow Never Dies, I would have worn the watch that I won, but if it were the PO worn in Casino Royal I probably would have left it unworn and as is.

It's amazing what a controlled frenzy can do to people.

I wonder how many of their people, Omega had bidding to boost prices and therefore image ? I was watching this live on eBay and easily figured out when Omega folk had to jump in and bid.

My brother used to attend auctions often and told me of the nonsense that can occur. People buying used stuff for double to triple their actual value.

It's also common practice for auctioneers to have their people there to bid strategically. Just part of the game.
Answer:
Funny as it sounds, the mud on it was obviously the USP ! Especially as the SMP that preceeded it was sold as a prototype ( surely more desirable ?!? ) Mud, mud, glorious mud !

Answer:
Well, I was watching the 3 Seamasters that had been worn by Brosnan and Craig, as well as the Speedy suitcase, the 3 Gold 1932 Pocketwatch collection and the Speedy worn by Micheal Collins.
According to eBays conversion rating, the whole lot would have set me back £399,315.44
The starting bids collectively came to £129,703.83
I just hope they have been bought by either Bond enthusiasts, Speedmaster / NASA enthusiasts or by someone here on this forum. I would hate for them to be have been bought for investment purposes as I do not feel they will bring an investor the joy that an enthusiast would get from owning them
If you ask Chuck Norris what time it is, he always says, "Two seconds 'til." After you ask, "Two seconds 'til what?" he roundhouse kicks you in the face. Chuck Norris doesn't wear a watch, HE decides what time it is!
Answer:
Iput the value of the Brosnan piece, the only one of that group, at about $20-25k in my mind. Boy was I off. "Chronographs, like most finer things in life, only improve with time..." - In memory of Chuck Maddox.
