Speedmaster Daty-Date

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to this forum and considering my first nice watch.

I am considering the Day-Date, but not planning to wear it everyday beacuase of my work reasons. So, I will only be wearing them on the weekends and will that be too bothersome to adjust the time, day, date, and the month everytime I use it?

Should I go with Speedmaster Pro instead? I have to adjust the time anyway, but not all 4 of the above.

Your input is appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum...

I think you should go with the one you like more. Either way, you can't go wrong, but most of the members here (myself included) will be biased towards Speedy Pro. I have two solutions to having to set the watch every week.

1) Get the Speedy Pro and wind it every day, it's a manual wind watch anyway (not an automatic), so not wearing it will not cause you to do anything you wouldn't have done otherwise.

2) Get the Day-Date and a watch winder. Keep the watch on the winder during weekdays. When weekend comes, your watch will be fully wound and set for you.

It doesn't take long to set the speedy day/date. Just remember to set the time first, then the date/month, lastly the day. Takes about 30 seconds. Or get a winder...

I love mine, they are great watches. Charlie, DeVille Prestige 4800.31.01; Seamaster, 1961, Gold, Cal. 500; Seamaster Pro 2231.80; Speedmaster 3523.30; Speedmaster Pro 3570.50

I love my 3820.50.26 but I use it in rotation & have a winder. Otherwise I find it bothersome to do the set-up.

A great watch nevertheless:

Thanks for the input guys. I will go to the AD tomorrow and see which design I like better and also to negotiate on the price. If I like the Date-Date, I'll just by a winder so I don't have to go through all the trouble. But I really like the size of the Speedmaster Pro. It's a tough one!
