New Strap...
I guess it will stay on this one for a while.
Thanks for watching.

Cleaniness is essential when Godliness is improbable
Answer:
When your watch gets out of order you have a choice of two things to do: throw it in the fire or take it to the watch-tinker. The former is the quickest. -MT

This one came on the watch, and since it was actually directly sewn to the fixed lug bars by a previous owner I've never changed it. I actually don't think it's one I would have picked out myself, but I rather like it. The double ridges look sporty without being overbearing, just my style. -r "Mechanical watches are so brilliantly unnecessary. Any Swatch or Casio keeps better time, and high-end contemporary Swiss watches are priced like small cars. But mechanical watches partake of what my friend John Clute calls the Tamagotchi Gesture. They're pointless in a peculiarly needful way; they're comforting precisely because they require tending." - WG

I love that WWW of yours, but that double r would not be my first choice either, perhaps something more 'military' and less 'sporty'... something more 'Spitfire', buffalo perhaps. Either way, a grail watch.

And certianly more common than that Grail! They're just not real popular around here for some reason. Part of the problem is that the market is choked with fakes and Frankenjunk, and perhaps that keeps a lot of people away. There are even those two frankens in Antiquorum's Omegamania! And indeed, this was only my second of I forget how many Omega purchases, so it would seem that my collecting had peaked fairly early... ;) I actually kind of like the double-ridged strap on mine, but perhaps it's just been on there so long that now it looks to my eye like it belongs there. It is admittedly somewhat anachronistic. Since the lug bars are fixed (no spring bars) I can't remove it without cutting it off and replacing it with a purpose-designed open-ended strap. I've just left it there so far because it was a nicely done (and probably not cheap) custom job, though it's beginning to deteriorate enough that I'm going to have to consider replacing it soon.
