For those who missed out on part 1, here's the link... hopefully the pictures will work...

Now, onto part II

As the party slowly wound down (pun intended) Omega surprised with a gift bag, featuring... well... I'll let the photos speak for themselves. It was genuinely a nice surprise. Very collector oriented.

Oooh... what is it?? what could be inside????

Ta-Da!!!!

We then headed on down to the Bavarian Bier Café for the second part of the evening, the dinner portion. Around about 15 or so collectors were expected to come along for the great food, drinks and chat more about watches and everything watch related. Much to our surprise yet again, some of the Omega team also decided to join us for dinner, as well as a select few from the favourite AD.

We ended up needing another table added to our already longish table. The atmosphere was great, and people finally gave in to the pressure of a table shot... which was prompted by, believe it or not, a table shot of Nokias!!! But considering that it's a watch night, people started piling their watches over the Nokias...

Watches piled on Nokias...

Very striking matt finished rose gold case

One of these went for crazy money on OmegaMania...

I went there specifically for their schnitzels, but the place ain't not half bad either. It's been the setting for many-a Paneristi GTGs, and everyone seemed to really enjoy the place. But I found myself struggling, for the first time, to finish the beast off... it feels like I've eaten half a spider-pig... the watch talks continued, and considering we had a very long table, made up of 3 tables, various people were going up and down the tables, doing the rounds, joining into the various conversations going on... and checking out the watches on each others' wrists, trying on each others' watches and wiping the drool off the watches...

The schnitzel, with a deville chrono as point of reference for SIZE

Obviously not everyone were in the mood for the schnitzel challenge, but there were much Bavarian style cuisine to choose from, and a fairly lengthy beer menu too, which are served in giant steins for that authentic Bavarian experience, or so I'm told.

But I was too busy chatting to people and looking at watches, again I have neglected to take photos of the various platters that were brought to the table, much like what happened last year. The wait staffs were friendly and seem bemused by our lusting over watches and the much attention given to them. So were some of the other patrons of the said restaurant, but they mostly left this bunch of crazy people alone to wallow in their passions and obsessions.

All in all it was a great night and a very, very big thank you to Omega for their support and generosity. It is very rare to see a great brand such as this taking this much interest in the collectors- the very same bunch of people who are most likely to criticise, to complain and to haggle, and yet they treated each and everyone of us like a member of the family (at least the ones they like!) and it certainly was an extremely enjoyable and rewarding night for all of us. And I know I speak for many when I say that I feel my wallet very much threatened once again, just when it was beginning to feel a little more padded... in fact, the very next day I popped back in and came out with this:

And now, to many, many sleepless nites....

Epilogue to come... -Nothing in life worth having comes easy- "Can you feel it? SamKan!"

I was pretty amazed by the quality and the variety of the vintage omegas found on the night, and looks like the PO is probably a favourite modern sports of the night!!!
