How do I find out more about this watch? I believe it is quite old, but no idea of its real age or value.

Thanks, If you can obtain the serial number it will tell you within a year or two of when the movement was manufactured. The movement number will be 7 digits if older than 1939, then 8 digits. some early pocket watches were recased in aniello style, gold, hunter style, etc. If this is the movement or serial number, it is quite old, dating back to ca. 1900 or earlier. Serial number is in the subject line (at least this is the number etched on the watch. It is old, I know that. If you look under the balance wheel, you should see the caliber designation as well, which can further identify when it was made.
