Hi guys,

I was asked by a local Omega collector if I could shed any light on a Seamaster that he has.

The caseback is unlike any that I have seen before.

The usual Semaster markings are there, but NOT in the centre & there is also another Logo on the caseback.

Have any of you seen this before ?





Here's a close up of the "extra" logo.



It looks to me like this is as it left the factory, since I can't think of any reason for Omega to Offset the Seamaster logo.

Confusion say :- Man with 1 watch KNOW time. Man with 2 watches never sure ! They're Afghan Military markings, seen before on various Omega models, most often the Seamaster 30. No kidding. Since they are known factory-made specials, they're modestly desirable among military watch collectors, though not all that pricey just yet.

The off-center Hippocampus makes them difficult to fake, and the market is such that the faker's aren't likely to bother.

You might ask on MWR - I'm sure someone there has more/better info.
