I'm on a roll....
Good to have the 2254 SMP back in the stable knowing that it will eventually become unavailable at dealers (maybe not for some time, but who knows).
Probably one of the better deals out there today for a nice classic, versatile, and reliable Swiss made diver.

Or get the Bond bracelet.

Answer:
Great watch! Congrats. Do you know what the story is about Omega discontinuing this model? I figured that they would replace it with a co-axial version at some point (for $1000 more), but I haven't heard anything. I would like to get one sometime and don't want to be shut out. It really is a classic.

Answer:
there was nothing new at Basel other than the new black Bond SMP in the classic case. Our favorite AD says the blue SMP Bond and this 2254.50 SMP will no longer exist and the black dial co-axial Bond is the only replacement for both. :-(

Nice Watch;) O
Answer:
Hang on to it. If it really never is replaced (Bond model isn't a replacement, a totally different look and feel, and a "theme" watch to boot), the 2254.50 should go up in value over time rather well.
