Service questions
Does anyone have recommendations of a place to get these watches serviced? I care very much about the quality of the work. All suggestions are welcomed.
Many thanks,
Narayan

I would suggest sending them back home to Bienne.I sent my connie cal.564 for sevicing and a new dial not to long ago.I tink it was a bargin. The watch came back looking as good as new and running within cosco specs. You should check out the repair procedure that Omega does at their web site. Their is a link to that and the price for service on my web page. The story and info on me sending it to Bienne is on my web page also. It was easy to send it to Bienne. Not much more work than mailing it domesticly. You can contact Omega at aftersales@omega.ch They are very helpful. Good luck Bill C Answer:
I sent a ladies Omega (belonged to my great aunt) to Omega in Bienne and they did a wonderful job. The original watch was a disaster, and I received the same watch back looking nearly brand new. I gave it to my wife as a Christmas present. They cost a little more than your local watchmaker, and they take their time, but the end result is worth it if you plan to keep the watch. Once it's back to original condition, then you can have your watchmaker keep it up with regular service. The same recommendation does NOT apply for work at Omega's shop in Lancaster, PA. I've read of lots of horror stories with the work there. Make sure you only use the Swiss factory. After all, that's where all the elves live!

I can't find the "before" picture, but rest assured, it was not a pretty site. Omega stripped off the Spiedel band and put on an original blue leather cord, and even supplied (for a cost) the red leather presentation box. It made a very nice gift to my wife, and now we have this family heirloom restored for her use, and to pass down to our daughter some day. When I had this work done, Omega didn't have their prices posted on their website. I just contacted them via email and then sent them the watch. They emailed a quote back to me, I approved (and pre-paid) and they completed the work.
The watch is a 1966 Saphette in 14k white gold with 18k white gold markers on the dial. It's a caliber 484.
