Here it comes again: 1940's steel Rolex Oyster ref. 3525 "Monoblocco" with black dial and custom enamel
It seems they managed to acquire another rare 1940-41 Rolex ref. 3525 "Monoblocco", steel, black dial, similar to the one sold for almost a quarter million at the Mondani auction here in New York back in 2006 ( http://catalog.antiquorum.com/catalog.html?action=load&lotid=152&auctionid=108 ).
Altough this one is missing the original expanding steel bracelet and the dial isn't perfect, what really intrigues me is the custom-made "VERSACE ...GIO .ALA..." (possibly "Reggio Calabria", Versace's home town) enamel along with the telemeter scale.
Any thought?
Thanks
Answer:
how does that grading system work? under the DIAL it says 3-5-01. I'm looking at the grading scale and I'm lost. Anyone? Lovely watch though. It would look so nice in my WWII collection (maybe if I mortgaged the house??).
Email me if you'd like to be put on the list for upcoming Edmonton Watch Club meetings (very casual).

Hi CanadianOysterWatcher, I may have not expressed myself clearly.
The watch I'm talking about hasn't been published in a catalogue yet (as far as I know) so you must be talking about the one sold at the Mondani auction.
The one I'm talking about is described here:

and can be seen here:
