Rolex Books
Do you guys have any of these books?? How good are they??
thanks
Answer:
these two titles you have mentioned is in fact one book.i've had the book some time and it's excellent not just because james is on here.it covers rolex from the very beginning to today.excellently researched and you won't want to put it down.
Answer:
Indeed a great book. Another handy reference is "The Rolex Report", available direct from the publisher on ebay.
"Too many watches, not enough time!" Rolex Datejust 1603 (1974), Rolex Submariner 5513 (1967), Rolex Explorer II 16570(2005), Rolex AirKing 14K 1002(1960) and my Dad's Omega Deville (late 60's).

its such a good book, my jeweller snagged it from me and I had to order another. Taking a tip from a fellow forum reader, I checked with Amazon... sorry - no luck (at least not a week ago when I was looking). Chapters/Indigo said "sold out"... so back to the bay. I got lucky and got one for $98 + shipping. Oh? What is the retail rate on this book anyway?? (The last one on the bay cost $125 + shipping).
Email me if you'd like to be put on the list for upcoming Edmonton Watch Club meetings (very casual).
Answer:
yeah i've had trouble getting hold of a copy but keep meaning to ask on here if Mr Rolex intends on any new edition soon, be just my luck to eventualy get one only to find a new revised edition containing all exact serial numbers released direct from Rolex etc
Answer:
I just got this book from amazon, as it was on sale. Is this any good? "Vintage Rolex Sports Models: A Complete Visual Reference & Unauthorized History by Martin Skeet, Nick Urul"
b.k.
Answer:
the skeet & urul book (vintage rolex sports models) is good but lacks real photos.there are computer genetated pics instead with inaccuracies such as impossible actual gmt representations i.e a gmt 1675 showing 10 minutes past 10 o clock on the dial but on the bezel showing 16? other than that good factual info.there are some photos showing bracelets, boxes, vintage booklets, auction results.6 out of 10.not bad
Answer:
The skeet & ural book is awaiting a new edition was apparently scheduled for march this year but is now more like Autumn
Answer:
Rolex: Timeless Elegance by George Gordon is also a great book. Hundreds and hundreds of high quality photos of vintage and antique Rolexes. Published in 1989, it is out of print and tough to find, but comes up on Amazon and the auction sites used occasionally. Greg
