The white dial was indeed a special order for the PA execs, but it had the standard red/blue bezel insert. Due to the aging of the Bakelite insert it may appear black in photos, but is was indeed blue.

PanAm colors were red, white and blue. Just like our flag. Red and blue on the bezel, and white (markers!) on the dial. BTW,...what are your company (Cathay) colors?

but after a while management intercepted some. Juan Trippe saw the GMT-Masters on the wrists of the management folks and ordered them to redirect the watches to the pilots as originally intended. Then he ordered white dialed watches for management.

Cathay colors are Green and White so the Sub LV would be the ideal choice!
Actually Cathay used to be owned 100% and managed by a British Company called Swire. Now Swire only owns about 45% but still manages CX. The SWIRE Logo is seen on the Pilot's Uniform Hat... Blue Red and White also...
