Seiko Spring Drive Is Home
I started collection G-Shocks a few years ago and thus i knew from first had that the Japanese can make quality watches. Most G-Shock collectors know that if you want a quality G-Shock go for a "Made In Japan" model. There is a reason that the Japan made G-Shocks are always more expensive. And since i own various G-Shocks i understand that Japanese watchmakers mean business
After getting to know the Japanese market i also found about Seikos that were 10 times more expensive that the ones we have over here.. I didnt understand why untill i was told the difference between the quartz seikos and the Grand/Spring Drive/Credor Seikos.
At that time i was ready to get my self an Automatic Seiko Flightmaster with PS that was about 2K. I still like the watch but i didnt manage to get it due to lack of communication with the seller because of personal problems of the second.
A year or so ago Seiko released some Spring Drive models for outside of Japan (The models are not available there) . At first only a few hundred were released and they were sold out in the first weeks . According to Seiko each spring drive watch is configured and inspected by 5 different seiko specialists that are the only employees that have what it takes to deal with the mechanism.
A few days ago i saw a SNR003 and a SNS001 on the display of an watch seller i know very well. I knew the price of these watches was somewhere around 3.5K so i decided to ask out of curiosity. I was surprised to find out that he was selling them for xxK and i decided that i would get one since i read alot about the SD technology and i liked it. First thing that my eyes saw was the smoothness of the second hand movement. I have both a Rolex and an Omega and i always thought they hade a smooth seconds hand. But the SD's hand was perfect. I loved it
Anyway i got a very good discount and bought the watch for xxK, almost half the price a guy i emailed a few days ago from TZ forums got his.
The watch is QUALITY. The bracelet and cover have a perfect finish and feels very good on the wrist. This is the first watch i manage to adjust time on, without having to move the minute hand some millimeters in front of the actual minute mark for it to be right on the next minute ( i think you guys understand what im trying to say ). Also there is NO sound whatsoever coming from the mechanism even when you stick the watch in your ear ;D . The only con of the watch might be the fact that it has no luminosity whatsoever but im accustomed to that since the lithium marks on my Rolex EXPII have been dead for a long time.
The photos below cannot describe the watch in real life but maybe you can get an idea. I took them very quickly and i promise better ones in the future
There is also a video clip of the watch at the end for you to see the seconds hand (although youtube cant host good quality videos)
Thanks for reading

I like your nice Seiko, but I must say that I'm a bit taken back by your first paragraph.

Ah, your lucky, I would love to get my hands on one. Looks very nice. Think I'll have to wait a few years till the price comes down. I really like the idea of the power reserve, it looks well integrated.
