Wyler Superior 1948 (ETA 1080)

The scans are awful. This watch is new! Everything perfect. It
had never been opened when I got it.
Answer:
..it's always great to get one in such pristine condition. I have a rather different Wyler Incaflex on it's way to me. It's a store demo with an Incaflex movement housed in a large watch case abouy 2 1/4 " in diameter with a display back. I'd been keeping an eye out for a nice Wyler, and this popped up. I couldn't resist it. I'll post some pics when it arrives.
Do you have any idea who Harry Fleishman was/is and what this award was all about? I did a quick search and the only Harry Fleishman I found (and found quite a lot of references to) is a well-known luthier. I also checked out Airfilm, and found a reference to Airfilm Entertainment LLC with the blurb, "Custom Camera Mounts: We have installed cameras on the wings of airplanes, bow's of ships, sides of race cars and just about everything in between. Give us a call for your hero-shots." I don't know if this is at all relevant to your watch.

Paul: I've looked as well and found very little. Crosby Square,
as far as I know, is in San Diego. My brother and I seem to
think that we recall a Harry Fleishman being involved with
cartoons, Bugs Bunny etc. but can find nothing to back that up.
It would be nice to put a face on the watch. It is about the most
pristine vintage watch I've ever found and a bonus is that it was
the best watch Wyler offered at the time. The dial is just so
beautifully designed with the raised Roman gold numbers. I
bought it on Ebay for $50 because I saw the hallmark and
knew it was solid gold, never realizing what a gem it really
was. Paul, I like the new board, thanks for it.

...I haven't had that much to do with the new software. I'm becoming more at home with it, and am happy to hear that you like it.
Yes, it would be interesting to know more about that intriguing inscription.
Heh! that was a very savvy purchase, Dave!
