Pre-War Rolex Model 2574

Can anyone explain the following? Though not an exhaustive reference book Shugart lists Rolex Model 2574 as 18K. The one in the photos below has 2574 outside the case back and 0.375 i.e. 9K on the inside. The movement looks to be in fairly good shape. Is it Cal. 400, 520, 720? I've seen 'EXTRA PRIMA' before. This one is 'ULTRA PRIMA'. What do these fanciful descriptions refer to? The number (39006) dates the watch to 1931-32 I believe. Does anyone recognise the hallmarks inside the back cover like the 'inverted' 'F's, the 'O' etc? Is this an english case? The dial is a sub-second which seems correct for the 2574 model but what about the hands? Enough questions...here are the photos. (I did track down a Rolex reference book in the library but I couldn't lift it off the shelf). This, mercifully, isn't an 'on-line' find, so I have seen it close up and it generally 'feels' right but any info, esoteric or otherwise would be much appreciated...

However, I cannot fine a source that lists that date letter code. I would guess that watch to date from the 1930's, though. www.anthonygreen.com/hallmarkingimpt.htm
