I am intrested in replacing the sapphire and finding out the value of the watch.
Answer:
Unless you like the Chinese alternative.I mean the whole crown. Now, how big are those diamonds?
Answer:
Three small diamonds on each side of band.
Answer:
The value will be mostly sentimental. I say repair the watch. Replace the crown with what ever available but keep the original part when exchanged. Since the watch is gold, I say, have the watch maker write an Insurance Appraisal and keep it in your records. That is in case you want to insure it. The Appraisal is good for five years. The repair cost shouldn’t exceed $100. Don’t let the watch maker talk you into changing the movement to quartz. let me know if you have any other questions.
Good luck
